Independent Pickler of the Week: Klein’s Pickles

2010
08.24

This is the first Independent pickler that I’ve featured in a while here at JMLP.  That being said, I knew that I had to feature a brand that takes as much pride in this unrecognized super-food as I do.  Klein’s Pickles have a wide selection of pickle varieties including Shelf-stable pickles, refrigerated kosher dills, and single-serve pouches.  You can even order CUSTOM PICKLES.  I will repeat that…  You have the option to design your own perfect pickle.  Here’s the link…

Take a look around their website and let me know if you try anything.  If I am fortunate enough to try some of their fine products, you’ll be the first to know.  Check back soon and have a happy pickle!

Independent Pickler of the Week: Grillo’s Pickles

2010
06.29

It’s been a while since I’ve posted an independent pickler, so I really wanted to make sure that I had a winner.  After looking around the web for nearly an hour, I discovered the website for Grillo’s Pickles.  These pickles are only offered around the New England area, so getting a hold of these pickles might be a little difficult.  However, with only one type/flavor of pickle, Grillo’s is essentially putting all of their pickles in one basket.  It’s obvious that this company has a load of confidence in their product,  which leads me to believe that Grillo’s Pickles are second to none.  Here’s the link…

Check it out for yourselves and let me know what you think.

On another note… After a few illnesses, a wedding, and a week long business trip, things are back in full swing here at John Mudd Loves Pickles.  You can expect regular updates and many more pickle adventures from yours truly.  Take care and have fun here at JMLP!

Independent Pickler of the Week: In A Pickle

2010
06.04

A co-worker recently told me about several pickle vendors at a local market that I needed to check out.  After doing some research online, I stumbled onto a review of “In A Pickle,” a company that sells premiere pickles at local markets and events.  If you’re interested, you can check out their facebook fan-page and become a fan so that you’ll get updates as to where they’re going to set up their pickle stand.  There are also a couple of independent reviews online, so take a look around if you’re interested.

The May section is being completed and will be done sometime early next week.  The June section is going to be added soon as well, so keep your eyes peeled.  Thanks for all of your support with the website.  Much love from JMLP!

Independent Pickler of the Week: Guss’ Pickles

2010
05.16

While the this week’s Independent Pickler of the Week only offers three flavors of pickles (Sour, Half-Sour, and Hot) I still think they are worth your consideration.  Any company that offers pickles by a gallon sized pail is fine by my standards.  I’m hoping to get some of these pickles soon and let you know how they taste, but if you’re interested in doing some independent research, here’s the link…

Guss’ Pickles

I’ll be having lots of text updates throughout the week, so be sure to check back often.  Enjoy your time at JMLP!

Independent Pickler of the Week: Freestone Pickles

2010
04.29

I was looking around Freestone Pickles website and became EXTREMELY excited when I saw a flavor of pickle that I haven’t encountered in my 22 years on this planet.  The innovative “chili lime” flavored pickle has a self-proclaimed “south of the border” taste.  This company is obviously always looking toward the evolution of the pickle and is focused on pickle fanatics like myself.  Here’s the link…

So if you’re feeling bold, do yourself a favor and try out some of these puppies.  Have a Happy Pickle.

Independent Pickler(s) of the Week: Pickle Juice Sport, Woodstock Farms, and The Pickle People

2010
04.24

As promised, I am going to feature THREE independent picklers to make up for the past three Thursdays.  First up is Pickle Juice Sport, a company that really understands the benefits of the most underrated portion of the pickle experience.  Here’s the link…

Pickle Juice Sport

If you’re a bit skeptical, just take a look at the amount of electrolytes contained in pickle juice.  So the next time you’re thinking abolut grabbing just any old sports drink, consider picking up a Pickle Juice Sport.  Suck one today.

Next up is Woodstock Farms Kosher Dills. This company offers an entire line of organic products ranging from applesauce to tofu.  I was lucky enough to find a store that carries Woodstock Farms whole kosher dills near me and quickly ordered a jar.  If you’re interested in finding out how these pickles treated my taste buds, check out the April section of the website soon.  I’ll be putting up a full review of these pickles in a future post.  I do want to mention that I was VERY impressed with this product.  If you’re interested in seeing all of the fine products offered by Woodstock Farms, check out the link here…

Woodstock Farms

The final independent pickler that I want to point out this week is a company from New York simply known as “The Pickle People.”  I stumbled onto The Pickle People’s website while trolling the internet and, I’ve got to say, I am really glad that I discovered this company.  The Pickle People offer close to ten different varieties of pickles that satisfy the pickler in you regardless of what you’re looking for.  Whether it’s the Cajun Pickle, the Atomic Hot & Spicy pickle, or the Famous Horseradish Pickle, you are sure to be pleased when you take a bite.  Here’s how to find out more about this amazing group.

The Pickle People

So there you have it… Three independent picklers for three different weeks.  Like I said throughout my days in college, better late than never!  April is up to date, so read up on my recent pickle experiences and enjoy your stay at JMLP.  Also, I spoke with the co-founder of Bob’s Pickle Pops who will be sending me some pickle products so that I can do a full review!  Keep your eyes open for that all of that coming soon.

Independent Pickler of the Week: McClure’s Pickles

This weeks independent pickler of the week has  a lot in common with yours truly.  We are both young pickle entrepreneurs, we both devote some serious attention to almighty pickle, and we both enjoy the (not so) occasional pickle.  These guys are living the dream, so help them live it by checking out their website here:

So there you have it.  This weeks independent pickler is in the bag.  As for JMLP, I have LOADS of new updates that should be up by the end of the day tomorrow.  I’ll just give you a sneak peak at what I found in the employee lounge today at work…

Independent Pickler of the Week: The Pickle Guys

2010
03.25

If your phone number is 1-888-4-PICKLE, you may have a serious addiction to pickles.  On the other hand, you may be as devoted to this delicious snack as myself or this weeks independent picklers, the Pickle Guys.  These guys have every type of pickle imaginable, including from kosher dills, half-sours, full-sours, and even horseradish pickles.  I really feel like I should just bite the bullet and stock up on a gallon of these kosher dills.  If you are interested in learning more about the Pickle Guys, check out their website here…

Independent Pickler of the Week: Dynamite Dill

2010
03.11

It’s really difficult to describe Dynamite Dill.  One could argue that they’re crazy for offering something as off-the-wall as their Christmas Pickle (Made with cloves, Maraschino cherries, and a whole stick of cinnamon).  Others could say that they’re intelligent for offering over five types of pickles, all flavored with garlic and peppers.  Whatever you decide, one thing remains clear: Dynamite Dill is as innovative as it is fresh, bringing an avant-garde demeanor to the world of pickles.  Check them out.

Independent Pickler of the Week: Sunshine Pickle

2010
03.04

I’m keeping it short and sweet tonight.  These next independent picklers seem to be just as excited about pickles as I am.  Sunshine Pickle is a manufacturer based in New Jersey that claims, “We ship everything as quickly as possible so our customers enjoy their pickles at the peak of freshness and crunchiness.  Sunshine means fresh, and fresh is better.”  These pickle aficionados offer a wide variety of pickles and pickle related products.  Whether your chosen pick is a kosher dill, a half-sour, or even a garlic pickle, Sunshine is is the place to go.  Check them out here:

Sunshine Pickle

And there you have it.  Short, sweet, and simple… just like a perfect pickle.  These guys mean business , so check them out if you’re interested and tell me about your experience.  Until next time, Happy Pickles from JMLP.
